John Hartman

John Hartman is a member of the Chapel team at HPE. His primary focus is on the Chapel runtime, particularly support for HPE Slingshot 11.

Prior to joining Chapel in 2021, John was an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Arizona. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Outside of work, John enjoys hiking, camping, boating, snowboarding, and tinkering with cars.
